What Does ABA Entail at New Beginnings Behavioral Health?
-
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding and improving behavior. ABA is widely used in therapeutic settings to support individuals with autism and other developmental differences by applying principles of learning, motivation, and reinforcement.
ABA focuses on encouraging positive behaviors and reducing those that may interfere with learning or quality of life. Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) begin by understanding each individual’s unique strengths, challenges, and motivations.
Key components of ABA include:
• Observation and Assessment: BCBAs carefully observe behaviors and identify the factors that motivate or trigger specific actions.
• Individualized Treatment Planning: A customized plan is developed to teach new, helpful skills while reducing behaviors that may be unhelpful or disruptive.
• Ongoing Progress Monitoring: Progress is tracked through regular data collection to ensure the plan is effective and to make necessary adjustments.
• Caregiver Collaboration: Caregivers play a critical role by working closely with therapists to apply strategies consistently at home and in everyday life.
At New Beginnings Behavioral Health, we use ABA as a foundation for compassionate, trauma-informed, and assent-based practices — always honoring each individual’s dignity, autonomy, and potential.

At New Beginnings Behavioral Health, LLC, each client’s treatment is supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). Direct 1:1 therapy is provided by a highly qualified Behavior Technician, who holds at least a Bachelor’s degree and has experience working with children with autism.
Session Structure
• In-home ABA sessions are typically scheduled in blocks of two to three hours.

Caregivers are expected to support therapy implementation by carrying over strategies from sessions into the home environment and recording data for specific programs, as outlined in the client’s treatment planned in the client’s treatment plan.
• If a client or caregiver is unable or unwilling to participate in the treatment process, New Beginnings Behavioral Health, LLC will make every effort to offer additional support and guidance. However, as a last resort, services may be modified, suspended, or terminated depending on the level and severity of non-engagement.
• We believe that caregivers involvement is a cornerstone of long-term success, and we are committed to partnering with caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for every client we serve.

Those conversations planted the vision for a safe, empowering space where individuals with autism and other behavioral needs could thrive, be honored, and access opportunities for a full, meaningful life.
Driven by her belief that connection is at the heart of growth, Krystal is dedicated to delivering trauma-informed, assent-based, evidence-driven care. She is equally committed to supporting caregivers, families, and staff to create environments rich with natural contingencies of reinforcement, where real-world success can be achieved and sustained.
Through New Beginnings Behavioral Health, Krystal proudly offers a broad range of services — from early intervention to adulthood — ensuring that both clients and clinical staff experience dynamic growth and inspiring outcomes every day.
In her free time, Krystal enjoys traveling to new cities and exploring historic towns, cooking for her loved ones, and continually learning through advanced coursework to bring the latest research and best practices to her community.
